Day 01 Arrival at Beijing

English speaking tour guide and driver will meet you at airport or railway station and transfer you to hotel, the rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 02 Beijing ( B L )--- Badaling Great Wall, Ming Tombs, view the exterior of Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube

Picked up from your hotel, first stop would be The Great Wall at Badaling(2hours), 80km away from the city. After hiking at the Great Wall, have a rest and lunch will be Chinese food.

Badaling Great Wall:

Badaling Great Wall, a most famous section of the Great Wall, is located at Yanqing County in Beijing. Longqing Gorge sits at Yanqing County as well as Badaling Great Wall, so Longqing Gorge also attracts large number of tourists after Badaling Great Wall. Badaling, literally meaning "reach eight directions", got its name because the maze of its ridges stretches in all directions.

Lunch at a characteristic restaurant(1.5 hours).

 

Visit The Ming Tombs(1.5hours) in the Afternoon, on the way go back to the hotel, you will view the exterior of Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube Aquatic Centre(1hour), two famous buildings during Olympic games in 2008.

Ming Tombs:

Approaching the Changling Tomb, you will first see the tomb's gate. It is an Alhambresque gate, the rafters and arch of which are all made of colored glaze. There are three small red doors under the gate. In the courtyard stands a perfectly preserved stele pavilion.

Day 03 Beijing ( B L )--- Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace

Pick up from hotel, drive to Tian'anmen Square, a 44-hectares square, Discover with your tour guide the 72-hectares Forbidden City . It will take 2-3 hours to visit the square and the Forbidden City.

Forbidden City:

Forbidden City is one of most popular tourism destination for the tourists from home and aboard, it is really a must see in Beijing, your Beijing trip is not complete without visiting it, the forbidden city a showcase for Chinese architecture and Chinese history. You can also learn a lot of the Chinese culture in it, how the emperor's life is like, what are the imperial court is like, everything there is so impressive, definitely you can't miss it.

Lunch at a characteristic restaurant(1.5 hours).

 

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven(1.5hours). Then visit The Summer Palace(2hours), it used to be the imperial garden, now it is a public park. After the tour, drive back to the hotel.

Temple of Heaven:

Temples of Heaven, China's largest temple and altar complex, the Temple of Heaven in the southern part of Beijing covers an area of 270 hectares. The Temple of Heaven is an exquisite and extraordinary example of Chinese religious architecture. Construction of the temple began in 1420 and at the temple emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for abundant harvests.

Summer Palace:

The Summer Palace was ravaged by the Allied Forces of the Eight Powers that invaded China in 1900. The damage was repaired in 1902. The Summer Palace became the residence of the Dowager Empress Cixi who spent a great deal of money expanding and beautifying the area, supposedly using funds allocated for the modernisation of the Chinese Navy.

Day 04 Beijing ( B )--- Beihai park with boating

After breakfast, visit Beihai park(1hour). The Beihai Park, like many of Chinese imperial gardens, was built to imitate renowned scenic spots and architecture from various regions of China. then take a boat ride on the beautiful Beihai . Transfer to airport for departure flight.

Beihai park:

In the southeast of the park, the Circular City is surrounded by a wall and is in fact an exquisite garden. The Chengguang Hall with yellow glazed tiles and green glazed eaves is quite dignified. Emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) watched firework displays on it. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has been converted into a Buddhist chapel. A statue of Buddha that is carved out of a whole piece of white jade is enshrined in the main hall. In front of the Chengguang Hall, there is pavilion with a huge wine vessel laid out. The urn is engraved with a dragon in cloud and a sea horse on waves which was once used to store the wine by Kublai Khan, the first and brave emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. Both the pine and cypress tree are around 700~800 years old, so it is worth taking a closer look.
