Brief Introduction:
Sichuan province of China is the hometown of giant pandas, which are considered as China’s national treasure. As the capital of the province, Chengdu has the largest giant panda breeding and research center of the world, there are currently about 115 giant pandas in captivity here, and therefore this is a perfect place for you to take a close look at this unique creature.
Of course, Chengdu is much more than giant pandas. It is now one of the fastest developing cities in the world, famous for its delicious Sichuan cuisine, various snacks, hot-pot, tea-house culture, and the hospitable local people who live a very laid-back lifestyle. You will learn much more about how to enjoy life from the locals by walking around places such as People’s Park, Wide and Narrow Alleys, Jinli Street, Tibetan Street, etc.
Itinerary:
We will leave your hotel around 08:00am in the early morning for Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center located at the northern suburb of Chengdu, and early morning is a very good time to see the pandas.The panda base is also a beautiful park with plenty of bamboos, plants, birds, flowers, besides the pandas. You will walk around the different panda enclosures and enjoying visiting these cute animals. You will also see the red panda, which is a different species from the giant panda,despite their shared name, habitat type, and diet.
In the afternoon we will first visit People’s Park, which is a perfect place for you to learn about the local people’s life. You will see locals singing, dancing, or playing the traditional Chinese game Mahjong while drinking some green tea in one of the tea-houses in the park. Of course, you may also sit down at tea-house and enjoy some Sichuan tea.
After that take a walk at Wide and Narrow Alleys as well as Jinli Street, which are characterized by nice souvenir shops, bars, tea-houses, restaurants, hundreds-of-years-old gingko trees, etc. In the end take a walk at Tibetan street where the Tibetan people of this province have their shops and restaurants.
The price includes transportation with a private car, English-speaking guide service, entrance ticket of panda base, and lunch.
