Visit the Hometown of Grand Panda



Grand Panda is a kind of very rare and precious animal in the world. In order to protect it, China's government established 13 nature reserves with the support from the WWF, including the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan province which was started in 1975 and joined the International Bio-protection Net in 1980, now it has become the most famous Grand Panda Nature Reserve in the world. The Wolong nature reserve covers an area of more than 20000 hectare, in this dense primitive forest area, lives more than 200 grand pandas, the world-known Pan Pan, Yong Yong, An An, Xin Xin, Jiao Jiao, etc all come from here, so this is the real hometown of the grand pandas. The pandas can enjoy a good climate here, it's not hot in summer and not cold in winter, and they have enough bamboo for food, here the elevation is between 2200 m and 3600 m, very suitable for the panda and many other rare animals like the red panda, golden-hair monkey, and white-lip deer, etc. In one word, the Wolong Nature Reserve has provided the best ecology enviorment for the pandas.



ITINERARY

D1

Arrive in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, meet at airport and transfer to a 4 star hotel.

Drive from Chengdu to the Wolong Nature Reserve, on the way, sightseeing in the Dujiangyan which is a 2200 year old irrigation system and has been listed into the World Culture Heritage. Stay in the guesthouse in the reserve.

Walk into the nature reserve, visit the Grand Panda Research and Protection Center co-established by China's government and the WWF, listen the introduction given by the grand panda expert, and see the grand pandas. After lunch, visit the Grand Panda Museum.

Trek into the forest, visit the grand panda viewing station in the mountain, follow the panda track in the dense bamboo forest. Camping at night.

Drive from the Wolong reserve to Jiuzhaigou which is regarded as the most beautiful scenery in China, and is a World Nature Heritage. Stay in a 3 star hotel

  

D7-8 Sightseeing inside the Jiuzhaigou, enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery including snow mountain, colorful lakes, magnificent waterfalls and pretty plants. Stay in the same 3 star hotel.

Sightseeing in Yellow Dragon national park which is not far away from Jiuzhaigou, it has the scenery like that in the Yellow Stone Park in USA, and it is also a World Nature Heritage. Stay in a 3 star hotel.

Drive back to Chengdu, enjoy the well-known hot pot dinner. Stay in a 4 star hotel.

  

D11 After a relaxed breakfast in your hotel, transfer to airport for your departure.
