Hihai wetland is located in the middle of Lijiang County . It was approved as a plateau wetland nature reserve in Yunnan Province in June, 1998. Since then, the nature reserve has been rehabilitated, protected and improved, which turns to be a paradise of thousands of birds consisted of 57 species, a place where biodiversity has been effectively conserved.

The over 1,800 year old Tea Horse Trade Route starts from Simao, a place that has been famous for its Pu'er tea, in southwest China's Yunnan province. The Tea Horse Trade Route, or simply Tea Horse Road, goes from its southern end to Southeast Asia, connects Beijing from its north and zigzags to Tibet from its West

Tour Itinerary

Join the tours to watch birds from the end of October to the beginning of April, when the lake is home to tens of thousands of migratory birds coming to feed on its abundance of local crops, aquatic plant species and different species of fish.

Drive to Lashihai Lake, horse riding around the lake with some wild birds,visit Zhiyun M0nastery and Naxi ethnic villages.



At an elevation of 2500 meters, Lashihai (Lashi Lake) is the largest highland lake in Lijiang County, and an important habitat for over 70 species of migratory birds, the highest water bird species diversity of any lake in Northwest Yunnan.
