Yushu is a traditonal kham region. The town has multi-ethnic. Most inhabitants there are tibetans while most of the han people are doing business there. It has over 250,000 people.  It's over 800km from xining. There is no directly train from Xining to Yushu. Howver, there is freight and buses. The horse fair is one the most festival in Yushu.
