1. Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven was built in 1420 and was used to pray for good harvests and worship God by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It covers an area of 273 hectares ad is the largest building complex in the world to worship God. Because ancient Chinese people believed sky was round and earth was square in shape, so most of buildings stress circular shape that gives people feeling close to heaven. Echoes were made good use in the structure of buildings. The shapes and structures of buildings are so unique and fabulous and embodied the wisdom and understanding of ancient Chinese to heaven. The Hall of Prayer is deemed as landmark building in Beijing.   

2. Summer Palace

Summer Palace was built 1750 by the emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty who used to travel to southeast China several times for inspections. He did like the style of gardens in that area, so when he came back Beijing, he ordered artisans to construct picturesque Garden of Clear Ripples. Later Empress dowager Cixi changed its name into Summer Palace. Summer Palace is the largest royal garden in China with an area of 290 hectares and was used by emperors to escape the heat of summer from May to October. It is divided into sightseeing section, living section and working section. 70% percent of Summer Palace is a man-made lake. The world’s longest artistic corridor links up all the major buildings along the bank of lake. At the top of Longevity Hill is the Pavilion of Fragrant Incense Buddha from which tourists could enjoy fantastic view of Summer Palace. Whenever tourists sightsee Summer Palace, they always linger its beauty and elegance. 

3. Beijing Zoo

Beijing Zoo was built in 1906 and is the largest zoo in China with an area of 50 hectares. There are more than 6,000 animals of 500 species on display such as giant panda bears, huge Ciboria tigers, white tigers and other animals from almost all over the world.
