Transylvania Tour - 6 days

                                    Explore the ancient medieval towns and fortresses

Transylvania is home to some of Europe's best-preserved medieval towns, most notably Brasov, featuring Old Saxon architecture and citadel ruins and Sibiu with its cobblestone streets and pastel-colored houses.

Visitors to Transylvania will also encounter stunning castles such Bran, near Brasov, - a Gothic fairy-tale structure, often associated with 15th century Walachian Prince Vlad Tepes, the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. While the connection with Vlad is tenuous, the deep bond of local villagers with the legend is not.

Transylvania's multi-ethnic heritage (including German and Hungarian) is delightfully apparent in the folk costumes, architecture, cuisine, music and festivals.

Colorful centuries-old traditions are alive and well in the small villages of Transylvania. People here still make a living at such time-honored occupations as shepherds, weavers, blacksmiths and carpenters.

Itinerary: 

Day 1 - Arrival in Bucharest, transfer to the hotel, followed by a panoramic tour of Bucharest and dinner at Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc's Inn).

Day 2 - Visit at Parliament Palace (the second largest building in the world after the U. S. Pentagon)and Village Museum. After lunch we will start our journey to the town of Brasov. In the evening we will take a walk in the town center.

Day 3 - In the morning we will visit Peles Castle, an astounding Royal residence, dating from the end of the 19th century. Our second stop will be one of the most famous sights in Romania, the Bran Castle (also known as Dracula's Castle). After lunch we will head to Rasnov Fortress.

Day 4 - Will be a day full of new experiences: off-road adventure in Bucegi Mountains and Ialomita cave exploration(480 meters long).

Day 5 - On this day we will see an excellent example of German Gothic architecture, Sibiu fortress town.

Day 6 - Our last stop before heading back to Bucharest will be the Slanic Salt Mines found at 210 meters underground.
