Day 1 Fly to Dali in the morning.  Visit the traditional Chinese doctor Mr. Tang and his beautiful courtyard. Then further to Yitasi temple, and Erhai Park where local people have picnics. Afternoon drive to ethnic Bai Residence area-Xizhou, visit the local market and the little hidden temple by the bank of the Erhai Lake. O/N in a beautiful sunny guesthouse in Shuanglang, 30 minutes driving away from Xizhou. This place is not well known among foriegners, but popular among certain type of Chinese, for the bright sun and lake view.

  Day 2 Drive to Guanyintang Temple ( for Budhistava) by another side of the Erhai lake and visit these Bai villages around. Then drive 3 hrs to Shaxi; visit Shaxi antient little town. O/N Old Theatre Inn, Shaxi

  Day 3 Visit the Baoxiangsi Temple in Shibao Mt., and grotos abt Biddhism figures carved in 1300s by local handy man (Ethnic Bai in this area is famous for wood and stone carving). Afternoon walk around the Duan village and many other beautiful ethnic Bai villages around.

  Day 4 Drive 2-3 hrs to Lijiang by the old road, where lives lots of ethnic Yi People; will stop around their villages, but pls beawre Yi are more conservative people, no photo and judgements when confronting them in their villages. Exlpore Lijiang Old Town and local vege market in the afternoon. O/N in a little guesthouse in a quiet lane in the residential part of the Lijiang old town.
  The guesthouse itself is a beautiful place for meditation.

  Day 5 Drive to Sanduoge village, and visit the temple for the local protecting God called Sanduo, where there are kids studying the Naxi Dongba Pictograghy. Then we walk through these beautiful Naxi villages to Baisha and Shuhe. Fuguo Lamasery where lives some Tibetan orghans survived from earthquake in 2008. O/N Lijiang

  Day 6 Drive to Zhiyun Temple before 10 am to watch the Lamas' morning chanting ceremony, and walk around the temple and villages around later. Then drive 4-5 hrs directly to Shangrila. Interesting stops along the way in Naxi, Yi and Tibetan villages. O/N in a local Tibetan guesthose, Shangrila

 Day 7 Drive 25 minutes to beautiful Tianshengqiao Hotspring. Then further to a beautiful hidden village for lunch, in a local Tibetan family. Then take a walk through the village and around. Wa, such beautiful nature, out of words to explain.

The cost for this trip is around 11980 rmb for 2 people, inclduing one standard room per night  in guesthouses, guide and driver service from Dali to Shangrila, all entry tickets for the places in the itinerary. Food is excluded. Breakfast you can order from these guesthouses.
