Chambord Castle

This masterpiece of French Renaissance architecture is one of the most beautiful castles situated in the Loire Valley. The construction of the chateau began in the first half of the 16th century, and at first, it wasn´t meant to be a residence during the entire year. 

Kings and aristocrats came here during the hunting period and each time they brought the essential furnish with them. In the 17th century kings started to live here for longer periods of time and consequently the decorated the rooms. Chateau often changed owners and today it is a tourist attraction which is visited by one million visitors every year.

The chateau houses Hunting and Nature Museum, and it has valuable collection of furniture and art.
