The Great Dune of Pyla (Pilat)

The Great Dune of Pyla (Pilat) with its 107 m above the sea level is the highest sand dune in Europe. It is located in the Arcachon Bay, some 60 km from Bordoux. The dune is also famous among visitors which is proven by the fact that over one million tourists come here every year.

The dune is parallel to the shoreline while behind it is a pine forest. Visitors who like adventures can ski on the dunes or even go paragliding over them. No matter what you choose to do, the Dune of Pyla remains a beautiful natural landscape.
