Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shaken. The shrine has spacious grounds with walking paths. The original building was erected in 1926 but it was destroyed during the World War II. The new building was fiished in 1958. The shrine and its grounds cover 700,000 square meters. There are two major areas of the shrine territory: Naien and Gaien. There is the Jingu Treasure Museum, the Museum Annex Building, and variety of sports facilities. In the Inner Garden is located Kiyomasa´s Well which is a popular ´spiritual spot´. It is free to enter the shrine but there are admission fees to enter other facilities.
