About this place

The Imperial Palace East Garden stretches on the territory of 210,000 sq. m and it encompasses the former Honmaru and Ninomaru areas of Edo Castle. The Museum of the Imperial Collections which exhibits a part of the imperial treasures is located on the grounds of the garden. The admission to the museum is free as well. There is also the Tokagakudo Music Hall which resembles a flower. Within the garden there are also two guardhouses, the remains of a stone tower, and a tea ceremony room.

The garden is a traditional Japanese garden which is home to over one thousand of native Japanese plants.
