Itinerary Description

  • The guide will pick you up from the hotel for the one day tour.
  • Start from Tian'anmen Square, the biggest square in the world which is in the center of the city.  It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history.
  • Then move on to the Forbidden City where was home to 24 emperors between 1368 and 1911.This "city within a city" is a World Heritage Site, and is the largest and the best preserved ancient imperial architecture complex in the world. The typical royal buildings of high red walls capped with golden roofs will take you back to the prosperous Ming and Qing dynasties (14th century to early 20th century).
  • In the afternoon, take a Hutong tour (old alley of Beijing), experience a special rickshaw riding and have a local family visit. Hutong is a maze of historic alleyways with old single storey traditional courtyard houses, which are now fast disappearing. In this one hour tour, you can hop on a rickshaw to ride through the narrow alleys as well as visit a local family. As an important part of Beijing folk culture, Hutong has recorded the changes of the city. Traveling around the maze of lanes, you will discover a different Beijing city.
