Day1 Kunming

Pick-up and transfer to hotel. At first, visit to the flowers and birds market in the downtown, a leisure center for the citizens of Kunming. Then, Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, the symbol of the modern city. In the afternoon, walk in the Green Lake Park, a charming place. A great show « Dynamic Yunnan » recommended. Overnight at Kunming hotel.

Day2 Kunming-Stone Forest

About 1hour’s drive to the Stone Forest, the hometown of Ashima that has a romantic history of the minority of Sani. Famous as a maze easy to be lost inside, you could enjoy your walk at liberty. Back to the city to visit the Golden Temple. Take the train to Dali. Overnight on the train.

Day3 Dali

Pick up at the station (Otherwise the airport). Drive to a local village for a local morning market. Upon arrival, take a breakfast in the square of the village with the local pizza according to your taste salty or sweet. Then, you could walk around the village, residence of minority of Bai. Or you could take a “taxi” by horse till the Erhai Lake with a small boat cruise. A show of cormorants fishing in the lake. In the afternoon, another village with its old houses and a tie-die workshop. The hotel is located in the old town. After check-in, visit the Old Town.

Day4 Dali-Weishan

Drvie to Weishan, a old town unknown for the foreigners, passing by a musulman village of minority of Hui. After the lunch in the old town, go up to the mountain of Weibaoshan, a national forest reserve. As a Daoism mountain, there are a number of Daoism temple in the forest. Having a class of Taiji with a master in the mountain is recommended. Way back to the old town of Dali.

Day5 Dali-Shaxi

In the morning, 4hours’ road to Shaxi. On the country road there is a good view with many villages, fields in which the local people do their farming. You could take series of amazing pictures. Upon the arrival, first visit to the mountain of Shibaoshan with its hanging temple, big happy Buddha and some caves with historical sculptures on the sandstone. After the visit, get down the mountain to the old town of Shaxi by car or by walking (2h). Continue to visit Sideng Street and a particular temple. Diner in a local family recommended. Overnight in Shaxi.

D6 Shaxi-Lijiang

Stroll around the old town in the morning, and drive to Lijiang, where we can witness and experience a historical, traditional, ancient urban culture. Check-in of hotel in the old town of Lijiang and then continue to visit the old town, passing the waterwheel at the entrance, climbing up the lion’s hill. A concert of naxi ancient music is recommended. Overnight in the old town.

D7 Lijiang

Walk around these streets in the early morning when those stores still closed. And pay a visit to the Black Dragon Pond Park, where show a good view of a classic photo of the city. Then Dongba Culture Museum. Later, way back to the old town for a local market and a masion of the family Mu’s Palace in the center of the town is recommended. Overnight in the old town.

D8 Lijiang

Drive to Yuhu village from where you are closer to the Jade Dragon Snow Montain covered the snow all around the year. And, the Baisha village, the first residence of Naxi minority. The small village is so peaceful and you can have a cup of Yunnan coffee here. Also, have a unch in the village with local food could be a good choice. After a visit to an embroidery school way back to the old town. A degustation of Pu’er tea in a traditional teahouse is highly recommended. Overnight in the old town.

D9 Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Shangri-la

On the way to the gorge, we will visit the First Bend of Yangtz and the Shigu village famous for a stone drum. Have a lunch next to the river with a good sight of snow mountain. In the afternoon, we will have agreeable walking by the Yangtz. Continue to Shangri-la with an obvious change of those villages along the way. A Tibetan diner is recommended. Overnight in the old town.

D10 Shangri-la

Begin the tour today with the Songzanlin Monastery, the most important and famous in Yunnan in the Lamaism. We call it small Potala Palace because of its looking alike the real one in Lhasa. Lunch in the new town, and then a walking on the natural grassland. Horse riding around the seasonal lake is possible. As you like, we could pay a visit to a Tibetan family and a meal in their house is recommended. Overnight in the old town.

D11 Shangri-la

As to know better Shangri-la, the Pudatso National Park couldn’t be missed. Various kinds of animals such as yaks, black pigs, oxen, sheep, goats and horses that are so cozy over the grass. The two lakes are so limpid with an inverted reflection of the clear sky and black clouds. A walking by the lake is recommended. Prepare some snacks with you as picnic during the visit. In the afternoon, a guide visit in the old town.

D12 Shangri-la – Kunming

After the breakfast, transfer to the airport and go to your next visit by air.
