Simple pleasures in China - foot massage

One of the delights of traveling in China is experiencing foot massage. Similar to reflexology that you'd pay US$50 or more for a session, you can have a foot massage in just about any Chinese town or city for a few dollars.

In some places blind people offer this service. Normally you sit in a public area, and your feet are washed and soaked in a tub with some medicinal herbs. Then while you wait, your neck, back and shoulders are massaged (clothed), before the therapist gets down to work on your feet.

Price for foot massage for an hour can range from just a couple of dollars (20 yuan) to $15 (100 yuan).
