Great Wall

Hi guys now we are on the way to the Great Wall , I know you are excited and ready for it, many of your friends who have been to China before may have told you this: if you never been to the Great Wall of China , you are not the Chinese heroes. Yes, it’s an life long experience . But before we are there I want to ask you guys why the Chinese people built the Great Wall? Many of my guest before tell me that to stop the Mongols . Today let me make it clear. Actually the construction of the Great Wall is like a defensive wall to stop the nomadic nations invading the agriculture nations, so what are the nomadic nations? 匈奴 ,月氏, Mongols Etc. you easily can tell Mongol is just one of the nomadic nations . Most of these nomadic nations live on the grassland and rely on the horses . Just imagine during the winter time and season changing period , there will be no grass and of course there is no storage for them . Then stay started to bothering the agriculture nation .in this way the construction of the Great Wall was built . Talking about the construction of the Great Wall, 4 different period in China’s history.

1: the earliest construction started from 7th century B. C , when different small dukedoms built the the walls to protect themselves from each other and the barbarians . 

2: in 221 B.C, when China was unified and established the first centralized feudal state , the first emperor in China’s history ordered that every part of the wall should like together , then we got the long whole wall, this is the first dynasty Qin, point to your own chin , easy to remember the name. Whenever there is a UN conference , there will be different delegation countries, for China, actually they will put CHINE in the front, because of the first Qin dynasty .

3: now comes to the Han dynasty , show the guests your hand, this is the second dynasty but without d your hand at the end. This is a famous one not only because the Silk Road we mentioned yesterday was opened but because in China the majority of us are the Han people . We have 56 nationalities , Han people takes up  about 92% of the whole population and the rest of the 55 are the minority’s . 

4: the last construction is the Ming dynasty when large scale construction of the wall was built and most of the wall we see today are from this period , this is the same time as the Forbidden City was built .
