China National MuseumⅠ

The National Museum of China is situated on the southern section of East Changan Street which is located at the east of the Tiananmen Square in Beijing's city center. The façade's overall layout is symmetrical to the Great Hall of the People. The National Museum of China has been built based on the original foundations of the History Museum of China and the Revolutionary Museum of China, thus the new museum is a comprehensive one that systematically exhibits the long history of Chinese's traditional culture. The two former museums have been combined into an integrated one, but these are categorized differently by a division of a central hall, the north of which is the Revolutionary Museum while the south is the History Museum. The new museum was officially established on February 28, 2003.
