Qianlong GardenⅡ

Generally Qianlong Garden is comprised of three parts

The first part is Guhua Pavilion, which was named after an old tree---Qiu Tree (Catalpa bungei). This tree has four-time regenerations from withering away. For appreciating this tree, Emperor Qianlong specially ordered to build this pavilion and wrote a pair of couplet: 明月清风无处藏, 长楸古柏是佳朋. Emperor Qianlong loved poems and writing poems. Wherever he went, he always liked wrote some poems or left his wall poems to the local, but his poem was not as excellent as his grandfather Emperor Kangxi’s. (Qianlong was a skillful and talented emperor among many ancient emperors and he was extremely respected his grandfather who was Emperor Kangxi, a rare respectable and successful emperor in ancient China. Emperor Qianlong set his grandfather as example everywhere. Emperor Kangxi’s poem and calligraphy were excellent, but Emperor Qianlong was not, although he left us many poems and calligraphic works).
