Centre For National Culture, Kumasi

Centre for National Culture  Kumasi is a tourist attraction in Ghana where you can learn the rich culture of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Inside the attraction has a museum, craft shops, an open-air theatre, traditional pottery and ceramics, batik tie and dye and Kente weaving site.

The museum (Prempeh II Jubilee Museum) houses some of the artefacts that were used in the olden days by the Ashantis, especially their kings. Some of the artefacts are cooking utensils, drums, stools used by their kings, their currency, the king's palanquin and the king's Rolls-Royce. The most fascinating thing about this museum is the drum that sounds like a roar of a leopard when played. Don't you want to see that? You will also have the opportunity to listen to some interesting stories that are linked to some of the artefacts in the museum especially, the story of how the Ashanti Kingdom came into existence.

The craft shops have a display of crafts from the individual. Get a souvenir from these shops to serve as a remembrance when you go back home.
