About Jing'an Temple

Jing'an Temple is the central attraction in Shanghai's trendy Jing'an district. The Buddhist temple complex traces its history as far back as 247 CE; however, the current structure follows a 1983 conversation back to a temple, which had ceased to exist during the Cultural Revolution. The current complex is sightly and presents a stark contrast with the forest of high-rise buildings surrounding it. The architectural style of Jing'an Temple draws on Tibetan influence to create something both classic and modern. After dark, the temple is bathed in a warm light that gives it a golden glow.
