About this place

Shaoshan MAO zedong's former residence is the place where MAO zedong was born and grew up early. On December 26, 1893, MAO zedong was born here, and he spent his childhood and his boyhood. He went out to study in the fall of 1910.

This is a civil structure, sitting in the north of the south, in a hollow shape (commonly known as a wood) of the farmhouse. In the east, there are 13 small green tiles for MAO zedong, and five huts in the west are neighbors. In the four years of the reign of emperor guangxu (1878), MAO zuo, MAO's great-grandfather, bought the house. After several generations' efforts, MAO shunsheng, MAO zedong's father, converted the grass house into a tile house. Today, on the front door of the hall, deng xiaoping inscribed "comrade MAO zedong's former residence", a plaque in 1983.
