The great hall of the people is located on the west side of the tiananmen square in central Beijing and south of west chang 'an street. The great hall of the people is where China's National People's Congress meets. It is the office of the National People's Congress and the standing committee of the National People's Congress. It is an important venue for the political activities of the party, the state and the people's organizations, and the place where the leaders and the people of China hold political, diplomatic and cultural activities. The great hall of the people, which is 336 meters long and 206 meters wide, covers an area of 150,000 square meters and a building area of 17,180 square meters. It's bigger than the entire building of the Forbidden City. The annual meeting of the National People's Congress, the Chinese people's political consultative conference and the five-year national congress of the communist party of China are also held in the great hall of the people.
