Pachacamac is considered the most important archaeological sanctuary along the Peruvian coast. It was used as a ceremonial and pilgrimage center from 200 a.C up to the arrival of the Incas in the area. Most of the palaces as well as flat-topped pyramids were constructed of adobe bricks
