„Bread and games“ – Romans in Istria

Day 1: Rijeka – Nezakcij – Pula

We start our journey from the Delta parking lot at 08:00 AM with a pleasant ride on the highway towards the town of Pula. Our first stop is around 10:30 on an archeological site Nezakcij, the last stronghold of the Illyrian tribe Histra. After seeing the site and the museum, around 12:30h, we continue our way to Pula, the largest town in Istria, arriving there at 13:30h. A licensed professional tourist guide will lead us through the city's sights (Pula's Amphitheatre, Aquarium Pula, Forum, Temple of Augustus, The Gate of Hercules, Twin Gates, The fortress of Kaštel, Arch of the Sergii, etc.). After sightseeing, accommodation in a 3-star hotel will be provided, as well as free time for leisure, dinner, and your own programs. We will meet again at 20:00 h and visit an event in The Arena (Amphitheatre) called Spectacula antiqua which includes a gladiator fight starting at 20:30 h. After the event our official program ends for this day, so you can take the night away or rest in the hotel.

Day 2:Pula – Fažana – Brijuni – Bale – Rijeka

Breakfast. At 10:00 h we will drive to Fažana, arriving there at 10:30h where you will have some free time until 11:30 h when the ferry to Brioni departs. We will arrive in the National Park Brijuni at around 12:00 h where we will take a tour with a professional tourist guide of the islands. The return by ship is planned at 18:30 h. We will take a drive to the little town of Bale and have a dinner together, and return to Pula for the night.

Day 3:  Pula – Rovinj – Lim channel – Poreč

Breakfast. At 10:00h we drive towards Rovinj, arriving there at 11:30 h. After a short tour through the city's sights, you will have some free time until 17:00 h when we continue to the Lim bay (channel); approximately at 17:30 h we will arrive at Lim and look its sights, and afterward have a dinner together. After dining, we will drive to Poreč and accommodate in a 3-star hotel.

Day 4: Poreč

Breakfast. At 10:00 h we start a sightseeing tour of Poreč with a licensed professional tourist guide and visit Euphrasian Basilica, one out of seven locations in Croatia under UNESCO's world heritage sights. After the tour, you will have the rest of the day for yourselves. Our recommendation is an archeological site with sunken antique ships or just enjoying one of the beautiful beaches in this town. As arranged, we can gather on a dinner together. We will stay overnight.

Day 5: Poreč – Umag – Momjan – Rijeka

Breakfast. At 10:00 we drive towards Umag, arriving there at 12:00 h. A short sightseeing, a visit to the city museum and some free time is organized. At 17:00 h we depart for Momjan, arriving there at 18:00 h for tasting wine, indigenous products and having dinner. After dining, we will return to Rijeka as arranged.
