Tour Overview

Day 1 Kunming-- Dongchuan. Nightstay in Local’s.

Morning, drive north from the City of Spring: Kunming for 3 hours to Dongchuan, highlighted by Red Soil, enjoy photographing there for the panoramic view of the colorful fields. If weather allows, wait for sunset at nice places, be with yourself peacefully for a while.

Day 2 Dongchuan --Kunming .Nightstay in Kunming.

Morning, get up really early for the sunrise at Damakan, enjoy taking photos at different spots like Jinxiu Garden, Qicai Slope, Moon Field, Thousand-year-old tree. Afternoon, drive back to for 2nd night stay in Kunming where has no bitter cold in winter and heat in summer with blossoms opening all the year round

Day 3 Kunming--Stone Forest--Jianshui. Nightstay in Jianshui.

Morning, head to the Stone Forest,which locates 120km south from Kunming and visit“First Wonder Of The World” of Karst Landform. Afternoon, when arrive at Jianshui in Honghe Hani&Yi Autonomous Prefecture, pay a tour tp Family Zhu's Courtyard House, an expansive residence with 214 rooms and 42 yards of Qing dynasty.

Day 4 Jianshui--Yuanyang. Nightstay in Yuanyang.

Morning, Wander in the Jianshui Old Town, which has been a center for Confucian studies for almost eight hundred years, visit The Confucian Temple, then hike in Tuanshan village nearby to see some ancient&fortified villages of south-West China. After that, continue to Yuanyang for  sunset photo at Hani people’s rice terraces at Tiger Mouth (Laohuzui).

Day 5 Yuanyang--Kunming.Nightstay in Kunming.

Morning, get to at Duoyishu early for sunrise, then visit some quaint Ni villages for cultural explorations like in Shengcun, Bada and Jingkou Hani Village. Afternoon, drive back to Kunming.

Day 6 Kunming--Dali. Nightstay in Dali.

Morning, take a 40-50min flight to Dali--the ancient political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan area. After hotel and lunch settled, visit Dali Ancient Town, featured by the unique traditional Bai ethnic folk houses,then continue to visit Three Pagodas (1.5 hours) - the historical symbol of Dali. After that, be free for the rest day on your own or visit



Day 7  Dali--Cangshan Mountain. Nightstay in Dali.

Morning, if it’s the date for a market, pay a visit to see the interesting scene of local’s trading. After that, drive out to Mt.Cangshan, and cablecar up to Zhonghe Temple, then spend the afternoon walking along the Cloud Pass appreciating the amazing view of Daili and Erhai Lake.Night, make a good preparation for the cycling tour around Erhai the next day.

Day 8 Dali--46kms--Shuanglang. Nightstay in Shuanglang

Morning, starts cycling on the west ban of Erhai Lake, pass Xizhou town,Shangguan and Jiangwei Village. Enjoy your time in sightseeing Bai Villages or other surroundings . Afternoon, arrive in Shuanglang--a beautiful town with Mediterranean view. Be a lazy guy relaxing there or walk around in a life-enjoying mode.



Day 9 Shuanglang--65kms--Dali. Nightstay in Dali.

Early morning, get on bikes riding on the east bank of Erhai Lake, pass beautiful villages like Wase, Xiaoputuo, Haidong, Xiaguan, ends at the starting point of our cycling--Dali ancient town. After it, Have a nice rewarding dinner for this long pedaling tour. Night, rest well for physical recovery.

Day 10 Dali--Erhai--Lijiang. Nightstay in Lijiang.

Morning, take a 2 hour boat trip on Erhai Lake for a closer appreciation, visit Golden Shuttle Island, a summer resort for the royal family of the Nanzhao kingdom. Afternoon, leave Dali for Lijiang--the most renowned ancient town of China. Soften yourself in a bar or causal walk in the town to feel the slow speed of time. Night. Enjoy the incredible night scene.



Day 11 Lijiang--Mt.Jade Dragon--Yufeng Temple--Baisha. Nightstay in Lijiang.

Meet at late morning, then short drive to Jade Dragon Sown Mountain (cable car and green vans available in the scenic area). Afternoon, visit Yufeng Temple, a distinctive and conjunct architecture style of Han Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Taoism and the local Naxi Dongba Religion, and Baisha Mural in the ancient capital of Naxi Kingdom in Baisha village, the cradle of the Naxi culture and ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom. Night, be a free bird.



Day 12 Lijiang--Lugu Lake. Nightstay in Lugu Lake.

Morning, long drive of 6 hours with spectacular mountain view on the bumpy road to Lugu Lake, a gorgeous highland Lake which is located at the border of Sichuan and Yunnan Province,and  regarded as the remote Paradise on earth, Afternoon, Free Time relaxing yourself around the area rich of the culture of Mosuo.

Day13 Lugu Lake. Nightstay in Lugu Lake.

Enjoy a whole day exploration around Lugu Lake, hire a small canoe to visit some beautiful  islands or hike between Mosuo villages or sightsee around by van. Dinner at a local family to learn more about the unique customs and lifestyle of the Mosuo.

Day14 Lugu Lake--Lijiang--Shuhe. Nightstay in Shuhe or Lijiang.

Morning, take the same way back to Lijiang. Upon arrival, visit Shuhe Ancient Town, which is along the ancient tea-horse road and one of the earliest settlements of the ancestor of Naxi Minority.

Day 15 Lijiang--Qiaotou Town--Tiger Leaping Gorge--Halfway G.H.Nightstay in Halfway Guest House.   

Morning, drive to the First Bend Of Yangtze River for a look, then go on to Qiaotou Town to start trekking in Tiger Leaping Gorge (From Qaiotou Primary School to Half-way Guesthouse via Changsheng Village, Zhong Nuoyu Village and 28 Zigzag Bends Trail. Night, listen to the sound of nature&count stars.

Day 16 Half-way G.H.--Tina's G.H.--Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge--Back to Tina's G.H.--Haba Jokul Y.H. Nightstay in Haba Jokul.

Start hiking in early morning to Tina's Guesthouse and have lunch there, proceed to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. Afternoon, back to Tina's House, then, be transferred to Haba Jokul International Youth Hostel for overnight stay.

Notice: Not recommended to hike between May and August:

1. Rainy season falls into this period. And the thunderstorm may have threats for the life.

2. High temperature will be another reason to let you tired out.

Day 17 Haba Hokul Y.H.--Baishui Terrace--Shangri-la.Nightstay in Shangri-la.

Morning, leave Haba Jokul Y.H. For Baishui Terrace.Then visit Potatso National Park by hiking along the plank (green vans available in scenic area). Afternoon, Free time on your own in Shangri-la

Day18 Shangri-la.Nightstay in Shangri-la.

Morning, vsit Songzanlin Lamasery, the largest in Yunnan & home to over 700 monks, after it, cycling go out to Napa Lake and visit Hamagou, Xiao Zhongdian on the way. Night, join with the local Tibetans’ party in the town square.

Day19 Zhongdian--Feilaisi Temple. Nightstay in Feilaisi.

Morning, leave Zhongdian for Deqin, drive across several mountain ranges,visit a small Tibetan town called Benzanlin when pass by. Then continue to the first bend of the Jinsha River. Afternoon, arrive at Deqin, enjoy the first view of Snow Mt. Meili.

Day20 Feilaisi-Xidang-Upper Yubeng Village.Nightstay in Upper Yubeng.

Morning, get up in time to catch the golden summit from sunrise over Mt.Meili.

Then, 1 h drive to Xidang Village for the classic (6h,1km) hike to Upper Yubeng Village, rising from 2500 m to 3600 m, passing through beautiful forest on the way.

Day21 Upper Yubeng--Ice Lake--Lower Yubeng.Nightstay in Lower Yubeng.

Morning, Take a 3h 6km hike from Upper Yubeng to the “Camp Base” then proceed for 1h 3km) more to the Ice Lake. After that, hike 3h back down to Lower Yubeng.

Day22 Lower Yubeng--Holy Waterfall- Lower Yubeng.Nightstay in Lower Yubeng

Wake up by the gorgeous view of Mt. Kawagebo glacier, then get ready for the 3h,7km hike to the Holy Waterfall ( 7 km , 2-3 hours),where Buddhists come for pilgrimage with their belief in order to be free from all sins from this life. After it, head back to Yubeng Lower to rest up for the next day’s long hike.

Day23 Yubeng-Ninong-Xidang-Feilaisi. Nightstay in Feilaisi.

Start the longest hike (10h) at very early morning, take the least traveled path, walk from Lower Yubeng back to Xidang, via Ninong. Late Afternoon, drive back to Feilaisi for overnight.

Day24 Feilaisi-Zhongdian.Nightstay in Zhongdian.

Set off early again for a long drive back to Zhongdian. On the return trip, visit the Dongzhulin Monastery to see a treasure trove of ancient. Afternoon, rest well to refill the energy.

Day25 Zhongdian- Xiangcheng. Nightstay in Xiangcheng.

Morning, get ready a full day tour on wheels from Zhongdian to Xiangcheng, stop for a hike in Birang Gorge on the way.

Day26 Xiangcheng-Riwa. Nightstay in Riwa.

Anther driving day from Xiangcheng to Riwa. Along the way, enjoy picturesque views of barley fields, snow-capped mountains,running rivers.

Day27 Yading National Park.Nightstay in Longtongba.

Morning, get on the green park bus for Longtongba, then 2.5h hike up to Pearl Lake of 4000m to appreciate the grand beauty of glaciers, Snow mountains and rivers. After the hike trip,back to longtongba for overnight.

Day28 Yading National Park-Riwa. Nightstay in Riwa.

Morning, hike 2h 4km from Longtongba to Chonggu Temple, then hop in an electric van for half hour to Luorong Pasture of 4180m. Then hike ride a horse up to Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake for breathtaking views of 3 sacred peaks: Mt. Jampelyang, Chanadorje and Chenresig. After it,go back to Longtongba and transfer to Riwa by green bus for overnight.

Day29 Riwa-Daocheng. Nightstay in Daocheng.

Morning, Drive to Daocheng, stop at Rupuchaka Hot Springs for a bath to recover from the fatigue of yesterday. Then visit the Red Grassland. If time permits, explore Gongling & Bangpu monastery a little more in Daocheng, which can date back to the 12th century.

Day30 Daocheng--Litang-Yajiang--Xinduqiao.Nightstay in Xinduqiao.

Morning, Set off early via Litang, Yajiang for Xinduqiao,which is highly regarded as the Paradise of Photographer. Long drive on the highland road enjoying fresh views of nature and culture. Afternoon, arrive Xinduqiao for overnight.

Day31 Xinduqiao-1-Tagong. Nightstay in Tagong.

Spend a morning of photography with camera, record the amazing scene of light and shadow. Noon.leave for Tagong where to see the Tagong Monastery and Muya Golden Pagoda on peaceful grassland.

Day32 Tagong---Bamei---Danba. Nightstay in Danba.

Morning, go on the tour by driving to Danba via Bamei. When get to Danba in the afternoon, pay a visit to Jiaju Tibetan village. If luckily enough, join a goat barbecue party with the hospitable villagers at night.

Day33 Danba--Luding--Ya’an--Shangli Ancient town. Nightstay in Shangli.

A day of drive to 1 of 10 best ancient town of Sichuan: Shangli, as the reunion with classic civilization. Have a quiet and relaxing time in the afternoon on your own.

Day34 Shangli--Ya’an--Chengdu.Nightstay in Chengdu.

Morning, head back in direction to the capital of Sichuan Province: Chengdu. When pass Ya’an, the city holding the record of having the most rain annually in China, stop at Bifeng Gorge to greet the China’s treasure animal Panda. Be happy like a kid. Afternoon. Continue to Chengdu for overnight.

Day35 Chengdu City Tour.

Chengdu is listed as 1 of 10 best place for living. After a natural wake. Start a tour to explore this city, visit Jinli or Wide-narrow Lanes, taste local snacks&cuisine, and discover the local traditions, feel the wonderful lifestyle of relaxation. Happy Ending.
