Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum

During the Second World War, over 20000 Jewish refugees came to Shanghai. At that moment, Shanghai was one of the few cities in the world willing to accommodate Jewish refugees. This museum commemorates the journey of these refugees and the difficulties they experienced in an unfamiliar environment. Most of the refugees were eventually able to settle down here, gradually adjusting to Shanghai, so the museum can also be seen as a celebration of successful cultural mixing.
