Red River delta was created by diffirent fertile rivers, where Vietnamese villages was built and keep going on. Beside the argriculture, Vietnamese also creates variety of handicraft products such as embrodary, lacquereware, ceramic, silk… and build up hundreds of spcialize craft villages around Hanoi. Visit Hanoi Craft Villages, we will come back to the traditional custom and cultural centre of Vietnamese.

Detail Itinerary:

8.30: Driver and local guide will pick you up from hotel to start Hanoi Craft villages tour. The car trip will take you along the Red river bank to visit Bat Trang ceramic village, which is located about 18km from Hanoi. Bat trang ceramic village is known as one of the most ancient craft village in Hanoi. In here, you will see the develoment of the village with hundreds of workshop. We have chance to see the ceramic worker creating ceramic products with full process or shopping for some wonderfull souvernir in the ceramic market.

10.00: Processing to Dong Ky carpentry village

Dong Ky is well-known for its craft of making things of wood with high artistic sophistication. The whole village, in the day-time is full of sawing and chiselling sounds. The main articles made there are furniture of high quality: tables, chairs, cupboards and ornate beds.

There are not only traditional models such as cupboards, ornate beds, etc. but also modern ones: drawing-room furniture, wardrobes, etc. As to the decoration, everything is artistically carved and also inlaid with mother-of-pearl of seven colours. The motifs are numerous: grass, flowers, trees, leaves, butterflies, bees or human figures, river and mountain and so on. You will surely be surprised by the highly artistic products of modest ordinary artisans.

11.30: Rerurn to Hanoi downtown for lunch at local restaurant.

13.30: We will visit Van Phuc silk village, the most ancient of Hanoi Craft villages with more than 1200 year olds. Van Phuc is proud to be the most ancient silk village which provides the best silk in Vietnam.

Visitors to Van Phuc village will be impressed by typical manner of an ancient village in the north of Vietnam with banyan tree, well, communal house, and the sound of power-looms everywhere. Walking on the main road in Van Phuc, tourists will be lost in the world of silk with various products like shirts, ties, crafts, dresses… made of silk available in the village. Free shopping in silk market or local workshops.

15.30: Drop back to hotel. End of Hanoi Craft villages day trip
