This is a full day excursion from Addis Ababa to visit the largest monastery in Ethiopia - Debre Libanos Monastery (13th Century AD) and the picturesque Blue Nile Gorge which drops about 1,000 meters from the rim down to the river. The Blue Nile Gorge is claimed by many as it is comparable in scale with the Grand Canyon of USA.This tour includes crossing the Blue Nile River by walking over the bridge and walk down to the waters. The Blue Nile River, sourced from the biggest lake in Ethiopia (Lake Tana), is the longest river in the entire world running about 6,800 km from the source to the Mediterranean Sea.

Visitors will also see one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia - the Gelada Baboon

During this trip visitors will also experience the life style of the countryside people of Oromo.
