Day 1: Arrival Nairobi.

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi, Kenya. After passing through customs, your waiting team from JACKO AFRICA SAFARIS will escort you to your hotel, nestling in the lush garden surroundings of Nairobi's Central Park - Nairobi Serena Hotel. Here you can enjoy quiet and peaceful moments away from the bustling city, yet remain within walking distance of it. The superlative accommodation, excellent cuisine, impeccable service and luxurious facilities have all contributed to the Nairobi Serena Hotel acquiring the coveted status of a member of "The Leading Hotels of the World", booked on BB basis.

Day 2: Excursion / Rest / Explore Nairobi City.

After breakfast, embark on a brief City Tour of Nairobi on which the country’s and city’s history shall be introduced, while you pass the buildings of our capital. Starting in the heart of Nairobi City, we take a short walk to feel the rhythm of the city, browse a few local stores for an authentic safari outfit at the Colpro Safari Outfit Shop, and at the  Collectors Den. From here we board bus and drive past Nairobi’s ancient landmark buildings – the Parliament Buildings, Kenyatta International Conference Center, Holy Family Basilica, to the Look Out Point at Uhuru (Freedom) Park. Subsequently, proceed to for a visit to the fascinating Giraffe Center, which enables you to come face to face with the Rothschild Giraffe and have the pleasure of hand-feeding them with Giraffe food. Lunch at the Karen Coffee Gardens Restaurant, after which visit the Karen Blixen Museum - the former home of the Authoress of ‘Out of Africa’, and Kazuri Beads Factory, before returning to our hotel to refresh. Evening transfer to Safari Park Hotel for dinner at Nyama Choma Ranch, including the 1-hour Safari Cats Dance Show. Return for overnight at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.

Day 3: Nairobi  - The Ark Experience.

Breakfast at the lodge, depart for the Aberdare Forest - a journey into Central Kenya, the granary of the nation.  You shall drive past Thika, an industrial town surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations, partially owned by Del Monte Company. After crossing the Tana River, source of Kenya’s hydroelectric power, landscape changes to lush as we climb into the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu People. Lunch at the Aberdare Country Club.

After lunch, we transfer to The Ark, where the rest of the day and night are spent in your tree house watching different animals as they come to visit the floodlit waterhole and saltlick. Elephants, Buffalo, Giant Forest Hog, Bush Buck, occasional Rhino, occasional Leopard and many other species frequent the waterhole. Dinner and Overnight at The Ark Lodge.

Day 4:  The Ark - L. Nakuru N. Park

Depart after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at the Flamingo Hill (Luxury) Tented Lodge. After lunch continue on an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The lake has earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species, particularly the Rothschild Giraffe, the Black Rhino and White Rhino. Lions, Waterbuck, Buffalo and Baboons are resident here. Dinner and overnight: Flamingo Hill (Luxury) Tented Camp.

Day 5:  Excursion to Lake Bogoria.

Breakfast at the lodge, depart on an excursion to Lake Bogoria, the base lake for flamingos.  The sight of millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. There are geysers thrusting, and a national park surrounds the lake. Look for kudu, impala, gazelles, warthog, buffalo, eland, baboon, and so much more. Lunch late lunch the Lake Bogoria Spa Hotel, before returning to Nakuru.  Dinner and overnight: Flamingo Hill (Luxury) Tented Camp.

Day 6: L. Nakuru N. Park – Lake Naivasha – Amboseli.

After breakfast, drive south to enjoy a 1-hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha for a chance to see your first hippos, and numerous species of birds which frequent this only fresh water lake in the Great Rift Valley. After your boat ride, continue overland to Nairobi’s Carnivore Restaurant for lunch.

After lunch we continue our road journey to Amboseli National Park, famous for its breath-taking views of Kilimanjaro. The park shelters more than 420 species of birds. Enormous Elephant population and other big game are attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Serena Lodge. (Driving time: whole day’s experience).

Day 7:  Explore Amboseli N. Park

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up on the summit, we set off for a dawn game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons. Visit to a Maasai village is planned after breakfast. Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another closing game drive. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. Dinner and overnight:  Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 8:  Amboseli N. Park – Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater.

After a hearty breakfast, we depart by road to Namanga border. At Namanga we will go through immigration, switch to Tanzania safari van(s), and continue by road to Arusha Town for lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Arusha is at half point the distance from Cairo to Cape Town. After lunch, enjoy a scenic drive through rich farmland on your way to the Ngorongoro Crater.  Here our lodge is perched on the crater's rim, with spectacular views across this natural amphitheater, formed by the collapsed extinct volcano of a hundred square miles containing prides of lion, herds of wildebeests, zebra, rhinos, elephant, hippo, packs of hyena and thousands of antelopes. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Driving time: Amboseli - Namaga (1.5 Hours + 30 minutes for immigration); Namanga – Arusha (2 hours); Lunch break ( 1.5 Hours); Arusha- Ngorongoro (3.5 Hours).

Day 9: Explore Ngorongoro Crater.

Today we descend with picnic lunch boxes into the crater in four wheel drive vehicle(s) and spend up to 8 hours exploring the plains of the crater floor.  When the grasses are short, game is easily spotted and can be approached quite easily.  Ngorongoro is 10 to 12 miles in diameter and nearly 2,000 feet deep. Look for black rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, lions, cheater, ostrich, to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight at our lodge: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti N. Park .

After breakfast drive the world famous Olduvai Gorge. A naturalist shall give a short story about the site. Here you have come home…. to one of the few places in the world, where mankind lived millions of years ago. A small museum on the site details the story. Our group is one of very few, who can descend the gorge by land cruiser to learn more about the excavation site of Zinj. After our visit, we proceed to the Serengeti, most likely we have our picnic lunch at the Naabi Gate. We do a game-drive from Naabi Gate en-route to our lodge for dinner and overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge.

The Serengeti Serena Lodge design is simple but stunning. Inspired by a traditional African village, separate rondavel "huts" house the luxury guest rooms that have their own view of the vast Serengeti plains. From the overall impression to the smallest detail, the lodge is rich in local atmosphere created by indigenous handicrafts and art. A delightful water feature runs through the main public areas, creating a natural source of waterborne plants and provides a home to many indigenous species of reptiles, amphibians and birds. Day 10: Explore Serengeti N. Park.

The Maasai translation of Serengeti is "endless plains." This expansive park, which covers over 23,000 square miles, is home to thousands of animals that form the annual migration. Early morning and afternoon game drives allow you to explore the areas where thousands of animals gather during migration (movement varies month to month — but the herds are usually in Southern Serengeti Dec-May), to bear their young, before continuing their pursuit for food and water. Behind the masses of migrating animals, follow the ever-searching predators — watch as this life and death drama unfolds before you. Overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 11: Serengeti N. Park – Masai Mara.

Early morning breakfast, then with picnic lunch boxes drive to Sirare / Isebania Border.  The drive is approximately 3 - 5 hours. From the border to Masai Mara is approximately another 2 hours. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is the Africa of movies and photographs: large, open grasslands dotted with acacia trees and traversed by the Mara River, teeming with hippos and crocodiles. Arrive at the park gate in time for an en route game drive to the lodge. Dinner and overnight: Mara Serena Lodge. An interpretation of a traditional Masai Manyatta village of domed huts, Mara Serena Safari Lodge is set on the saddle of a hill where it overlooks the 1,800 square kilometers of rolling plains, woodlands and rivers that make up the Masai Mara Triangle - one of the world's richest wildlife sanctuaries. No other lodge has such a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape or the game and birdlife that inhabits it. Driving time: Serengeti-Sirare Border,  3 - 5 hours; Sirare Border - Mara Serena, 2 hours.

Day 12: Explore Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Enjoy a morning game and an afternoon game-drive. Large mammals are varied, abundant and not difficult to find. Resident among the parks mammals are; Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Topi, both the Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles. The best *Hot Air Balloon ride is available on this day at an additional cost of US 470.00 per person. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 13: Masai Mara – Nairobi – Fly Home, or Connect to an Extension.

Early morning game drive, before breakfast, returning to the lodge by 9.00 am for breakfast. After breakfast, it is check out time and drive to the airstrip. We board a scheduled flight from Masai Mara to Wilson Airport, Nairobi to check into dayroom. If you are doing an extension, you immediately connect onto it! If not, then the rest of the day is at leisure, but there is a Farewell  Dinner at our hotel. Dayrooms are ours only up to 6.30 pm when we merge for Farewell Dinner at the Pampas Restaurant. After dinner, this evening we transfer to the airport for your home-bound with great memories. Dayrooms & dinner within: Panari Hotel, Nairobi.
