Day 1AIRPORT/BEACH HOTEL MARAWILA
Sri Lanka is the perfect country to travel with children. Distances are normally not too much and there are an abundance of things to do for the kids. We know (from experience) that if the children are not enjoying their holiday then neither will the parents. Feeding a baby elephant with a bottle of milk, snorkeling on our reefs or just enjoying our warm seas are elements of which we are sure your children will fall in love with! There are whales passing by our paradise and our national parks teem with peacocks, elephants and even leopards! Arrival & transfer to the beach hotel nearby. Day 2NEGOMBO/MUTHURAJAWELLA/OVERNIGHT BEACH HOTEL
After bfast excursion to Negombo & Muthurajawella Boat Trip Morning – (Negombo City Tour Fishing Village visit) Negombo Fishing village, which is the center of the island’s fishing community. It is largely Roman Catholic by faith, with huge imposing churches down almost every street. The sea & the catamarans are the backdrop to the Negombo scenery. Muthurajawella Boat Trip (Boat Hire – Maximum 6 clients) and Entrance Ticket for Nature Reserve) The name Muthurajawella meaning can be translated in to English simply as “Swamp of Royal Treasure”. Treasures of kings in olden days are believed to be buried in that area. Muthurajawella Marsh is situated towards the southern part of Negombo. The boundaries lagoon coastal Eco system, and Kelaniya River. Muthurajawella bears staggering species of flora and fauna, species of birds, water birds such as herons, egrets in abundance in the lagoon and the marsh and different species of fish, Muthurajawella marsh has been declared as s sanctuary by the government its vast bio diversity. Day 3MINNERIYA RESERVE BY JEEP SIGIRIYA
After Breakfast travel to Sigiriya region en route Habarana Elephant Back Jungle Safari (with safari tickets) Habarana for an elephant back safari, Spend some times with elephant’s and joy ride in Habarana Jungle where you will have ample opportunities to take photographs of birds, animals, reptiles etc… Elephant Safari - the tour will take you along the forest trail, across the river, through the village and back to your lodging all on the elephant back ride. Installation at the hotel. In the early afternoon Minneriya Wild Park Safari – Jeep Hire and Park Entrance This National Park area, which is mainly the catchments area, was initially declared as a sanctuary in 1938. The vegetation of this area consists of mainly dry mixed evergreen forest and much of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, including elephant, is found here Dinner & Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 SIGIRIYA / POLONNARUWA
After breakfast Visit Sigiriya Rock – Entrance Ticket Climb the rock of Sigiriya. The history of Sigiriya dates back to over 5000 thousand years, to the Mesolithic period. One of Sri Lanka’s major attractions and a World Heritage Site, Sigiriya (Lion Rock) came into prominence in the 5th century AD, the rock and the colossal plan of the royal palace, water gardens and fortifications, is entirely fascinating. Site seeing Polonnaruwa City Tour) - Entrance Ticket You can do this visit by hiring bicycles enjoyable for young children or by vehicle. Polonnaruwa & visit the 2nd capital of Sinhalese kings dating back to the 11th & 12th century A.D. The entire landscape of the region is punctuated by huge man-made reservoirs, the most famous of which is the “Parakrama Samudra’’. Day 5 SIGIRIYA/DAMBULLA/MATALE/KANDY
After breakfast Visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple – Entrance Ticket. Rock cave temple of Dambulla a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The view from the top of this rock is breathtaking 350 ft. above are a series of five caves. The frescoes on the walls and ceiling could be dated to the 15th - 18th centuries.Matale Spice Garden visit – Free visit included in the Program you will be introduced to a variety of Plants; various parts of those are used as spices. This will be very informative for any person interested in Cooking and assorted use of Spices and Herbal Value. Children keen in Plants and Botany will be naturally interested in this educational visit and see many different types of Sri Lanka spices. A Batik Factory Stopover – This visit give practical procedure of Batik Handicraft from plain clothe to completed fabric with immaculate and intricate Designs. Sacred Tooth Relic Temple & Cultural Dance Show) - Entrance Ticket. Sacred Tooth Relic Temple is most revered temple in Sri Lanka by the Buddhists of all nationals, The famous Kandy Cultural Program. This is one of the famous show and it starts in the evening and runs for more than 1 hr. The skills of the traditional musicians of Kandy, their drums and dance is all very much entertaining. Day 6KANDY / POUSELLAWA / PERADENIYA
After breakfast - Free visit Tea Plantation and Tea Factory Sri Lanka is one of the world's largest exporters of tea. At the Tea Factory you can witness the manufacture of the world famous Ceylon tea. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden) - Entrance Ticket The Royal botanical gardens of Peradeniya, which is well, known for its large number and variety of plants, ornamental, decorative, useful & medicinal.More than 4000 species include indigenous and introduced plants. This garden is best known for its collection of orchids the largest in Asia. Free Site seeing Tour of Kandy City (Museum – Entrance Ticket) City of Kandy, Cultural Center of Sri Lanka with Traditions, The most prominent landmark of Kandy is its lake which is in the center of the city.visit the Kandy Museum. Day 7KANDY / PINNAWELA / MOUNT LAVINIA
After breakfast Visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage – Entrance Ticket. Pinnawela & visit the Elephant Orphanage. This orphanage was established to feed nurse & house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Often the young ones fall into pits and ravines in their request for water during drought period. You could feed the baby elephants milk by the bottles here. Proceed to Beach Hotel relax free & Overnight at beach hotel
Day 8 BEACH FREE DAY
Free relax at the beach hotel with Bfast & overnight Optional Colombo City tour can be arranged free of charge for half a day. Please advise us early to make arrangements.
Day 9
BEACH AIRPORT
After Bfast transfer to airport. Room until 12h00 If time permits can visit Colombo & do some last minute shopping in Colombo on the way to the airport
